The trail head is located just off Shawdee rd.

To access the trail head: You can't miss it. It's at the parking area

Difficulty:

The trail is easy to hike.

Hiking the Trail:

Just start near the picnic area/pavilion and go from there. If you head south you will hike around the south side of Sky Lake. Just on the other side of Sky Lake is a really cool covered bridge. You hike across the bridge and soon you will end up at an 1800s era cabin. Near this point is also the outdoor class room. From here just continue on. The trail will take you around Sky Lake and loop back to the picnic area.

Scenery:

You will get a great view of Sky Lake. You will also get to walk across a covered bridge and see an 1800s era cabin. You may actually go inside the cabin and look around.

Trail Maintenance:

The trail is well maintained.

Facilities:

Near the trail head is a picnic area and a covered pavilion. They have drink machines, a map with the different plants and animals located on the trail, and restrooms. There is also an outdoors class room located on the trail. They have benches and a chalk board set up there. There is also a "school trail" which starts near the outdoor class room and loops back to the main trail.
