North Alabama and Southern Tennessee offer several hiking trails that take you along the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Northwest
Alabama has trails with scenic mountain views from trails like Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in the Huntsville area,Cane Creek Preserve in the Northwest corner of the state, and
Cheaha Mountain in Cheaha State Park in the North Central part of the state. Southern Tennessee has great mountain hikes such as the Sewanee University trails and South Cumberland
State Park. Northwest Georgia has the incredibly scenic Cloudland Canyon State Park in Northwest Georgia not far the Alabama state line.
